New Parker-Rectus Coupling Range for Cooling Injection Moulds Increases Production Output



Nussdorf, August 2009 - Injection moulding tools enable the production of large numbers of plastic components. The duration of one cycle - i.e. the time between two mouldings - is dependent not only on the size of the work pieces but in particular on the cooling. Quicker cooling of the injection mould results in higher cycle times and therefore improved productivity.

Parker Rectus, part of the Quick Coupling Division of Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, will be presenting its complete range of tempering couplings for moulding, developed especially for connecting coolant lines and injection moulds. Available for all known profiles around the world (International, European, French), one outstanding feature of the European and international range is the safe lock technology, which uses a special mechanism to reliably prevent accidental disconnection under pressure without impacting the flow rate. In addition the extended locking sleeve allows flush plugs to be connected and disconnected without difficulty and the angled connections prevent creasing of the hoses. As such, the Rectus mould coupling ranges provide impressive proof that the constantly increasing demands for higher temperatures (up to 180°C) and greater flow (max. operating pressure 20 bar) can be achieved even with optimum occupational safety.

Available with various valve variants - single or double shut-off and with free through-access - the coupling systems are suitable for the use with both liquid and gaseous cooling media (water, glycol emulsion, tempering oil). Only high quality brass is used for the installation of the couplings and various surface finishes are available depending on the design. All mechanical parts such as springs and locking balls are made of stainless steel in order to counteract wear from coupling process.
