Corning Cable Systems to Highlight Innovation in Fiber-to-the-Antenna Solutions at the 2009 Wireless Infrastructure Show

HICKORY, N.C. - Corning Cable Systems LLC, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, will feature its innovative Evolant® Solutions for Wireless Networks including fiber-to-the-antenna at the 2009 Wireless Infrastructure Show, Sept. 21-24, in Nashville.

In its exhibit (booth #521), Corning will display its wireless solutions, and customers will be able to see exactly where the products fit into their network deployment. Customers will experience first-hand how Corning Cable Systems' cables utilizing ClearCurve® bend-insensitive optical fibers can be deployed in buildings for roof-top wireless antenna deployments as easily as copper communication cables, using standard installation techniques and eliminating the need for microduct.

The Corning Cable Systems exhibit will also include Corning's environmentally-hardened OptiTip(TM) Multi-Fiber Connectors, which are able to withstand temperature extremes, vibration, dust penetration and prolonged water submersion. Ideal for rapid deployment of roof-top and tower-based cellular equipment, these connectors offer optical loss levels that rival traditional fusion splicing and a small footprint that allows them to be installed in either open environments or ducts as small as one inch.

Corning's Evolant Solutions for Wireless Networks enable service providers to easily install and upgrade wireless networks. The virtually unlimited capacity and reach of optical fiber ensures that products installed today will remain viable and ideally suited for tomorrow's technologies. Products to be featured include:

o The FlexNAP(TM) Terminal Distribution System consists of standard fiber optic cables upon which network access points are preterminated at customer-specified locations along the length of the cable. This field-proven, cutting-edge solution can reduce installation time by more than 50 percent in the distribution segment of access networks as compared with traditional, separate component deployment of distribution cables, network access terminals and drop cables.

o The latest introduction to the OptiSheath® MultiPort Terminal family is a two-fiber per port preterminated terminal that simplifies roof-top and cell tower fiber distribution, especially for Remote Radio Head deployments.

In addition to the exhibit, Corning Cable Systems will be participating in the following educational events at the conference:

o On Tues., Sept. 22, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Allen Dixon of Corning Cable Systems will moderate the panel, "New Drivers in In-building Wireless."

o On Wed., Sept. 23, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., Bart Filipiak of Corning Cable Systems will speak on the panel "Innovations in Distributed Network Architecture."
