Berk-Tek Announces Riser (CMR) Rated Low Smoke Zero Halogen Lead Free Cables
New Holland, PA - June 11, 2004 -Copper and fiber optic cabling technology and solutions leader Berk-Tek, A Nexans Company, today announced the launch of the Industry's first Riser (CMR) Rated Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) Lead Free Rated Cables. Berk-Tek now offers, for the first time, a cable construction that can be used to facilitate global design and installation environments with a single product.
Berk-Tek's CMR Rated LSZH Lead Free design is the first Copper cabling product that enables Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Cable Assembly Houses (CAH) the ability to standardize on a single product that facilitates both the Underwriter's Laboratory (UL) Listing for Riser Rating (CMR - Article 760 of the NEC code) and the International requirements for LSZH Lead Free designs.
The product line is available in Foil Twisted Pair (FTP) and Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Solid and Stranded Conductor Category Copper Cables. The features and benefits include lower manufacturing and inventory costs because a single cable design can be used to manufacture the interconnect assemblies and installation cables used to network OEM active equipment that is being deployed into the global Communications market.
