Original Press Release:

Thermal Cutoff and Forming Control Solution

Harrisburg, PA - Phoenix Contact Inc. has expanded its modular automation offering with the release of a PID Temperature Controller. The TEMPCON module is well suited for packaging
machine temperature control when thermal cutoff or forming applications are employed. The module is designed as either a stand-alone unit or integrated into a device level network (CanOpen, DeviceNet, INTERBUS and Profibus) or Ethernet.

The IB IL TEMPCON module can be configured as a PID two-position controller, a three-position controller, or a motor step controller for closed loop applications. The DIN rail mounted unit is available for thermocouples (8 channels) or RTDs (6 channels). Built-in outputs reduce panel space requirements and simplify engineering.

Virtually all common functions for temperature control are already integrated. Functions include machine preheat, auto tune, and bumpless hand / automatic switching. All functions are
parameterized with an easy-to-operate Windows based engineering tool or via the device level network. Integrated monitoring and diagnostics functions provide quick access to and control
over process parameters.

Phoenix Contact Inc. Quality System is registered to ISO 9001: 2000 - Quality Systems Model for Quality Assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing.
