Extrusion Lines Become Easier to Operate
LEESBURG, VA - Eurotherm, the maker of the Extrusion Master 3 (EM-3) control systems, simplifies the set up of extrusion lines and makes it possible for the extruder with little or no knowledge of process control theory to effectively optimize extruders and melt pumps.
Variations in material and other process dependencies mean variations in product consistencies. The adaptive auto tuning pressure control loop in the EM-3 accounts for material and machine variations to make consistent product. Consistency means less scrap, less waste and more production.
In addition to productivity increases, a web loading utility allows custom Web pages to be loaded into the control system. Simply create an HTML page and use the new Web loading utility to load the Web page(s) into the control system. Any Web browser can then be used to view the embedded page through the EM-3's Ethernet TCP/IP network. The Web loader uses a wizard-like interface that guides you through the Web content transfer processes of moving files from your PC to the EM-3 control system.
Java programs can also be loaded to read and write set points and values in and out of the system via your custom Web page(s).
