IBM DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3.0 Adds Support for Linux

Overview
To thrive in today's on demand world, companies need to get information into the hands of the right people - easily and cost effectively. IBM offers a comprehensive, integrated suite of products that enable organizations to simplify content management and deliver information with on demand ease.

IBM DB2® Content Manager Enterprise Edition provides organizations with a common repository for all types of content. With the addition of support for Linux(TM) for 32-bit x86 platforms, DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 helps improve productivity across the entire organization, ease compliance management and speeds the delivery of business content, where and when it is needed.

Web services support provides a self-contained, self-describing, modular Web services interface, to use within your applications, with other Web services, or in complex business processes to seamlessly access items stored in DB2 Content Manager. This Web services interface lets you dynamically integrate your applications with DB2 Content Manager, regardless of the programming language they were written in or the platform on which they run.

XML schema mapping utility simplifies the process of defining the DB2 Content Manager schema to support incoming XML documents adhering to specific XML schemas. Once the mapping is generated, XML documents adhering to the mapped XML schema may be captured, shredded, stored, and managed in DB2 Content Manager automatically, with no human interaction.

Integration with WebSphere® Business Integration Server Foundation (WBISF)-Process Choreographer - DB2 Content Manager V8.3 includes sample code enabling integration of DB2 Content Manager with WBISF Process Choreographer. This allows processes running with WBISF Process Choreographer. Processes running in WBISF Process Choreographer can interact with DB2 Content Manager to access relevant content at any step in the process.

Support for Linux for 32-bit x86 platforms is available for DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3. DB2 Content Manager VideoCharger(TM) support is available for Windows(TM) and AIX® platforms. Refer to IBM Software Announcement 205-059, dated March 8, 2005, for additional supported platforms and supported platforms for DB2 Content Manager VideoCharger.
