Compuware Covisint Collaborates with Georgia Department of Community Health on Web-based Medicaid Communications Processing

Georgia Providers to Accelerate Medicaid Communications Through Secure, Web- based Compuware Covisint Solution

DETROIT, June 19 / - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ:CPWR) today announced that the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH), the state agency which provides healthcare to more than two million Georgia residents under the Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids(TM) programs and the State Health Benefit Plan, will collaborate with Compuware Covisint to offer a state-wide, Web-based program for processing Medicaid communications between the state and health care providers who choose to use the Covisint program.

"DCH recognizes the power of technology to streamline communication between the state and health care providers," said Dr. Rhonda Medows, Commissioner, Georgia Department of Community Health. "The collaboration between DCH and Compuware Corporation is just one example of the steps we are taking across the healthcare industry to integrate technology into our everyday business practices."

DCH will make the Covisint network available to any Georgia healthcare provider regardless of their technical sophistication: a fax machine or an Internet connection is the minimum requirement. Georgia health care providers will be able to access the secure Web portal, complete with state-approved Medicaid web-forms, and document imaging and workflow, which is staffed by Covisint's 24x7 technical support.

"Covisint's core value proposition is clear: we enable secure information access and distribution," said Bob Paul, President and Chief Operating Officer of Compuware Covisint. "DCH benefits through rapid time-to-value and the confidence that the right information is available to the right people at the right time. We are extremely pleased to work with the Department in providing this value to Georgia which is serious about improving the healthcare system."

"In every other aspect of society, we see the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of technology, but in healthcare we continue to cling to outdated, paper processes of care and administration," said Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, founder of the Center for Health Transformation. "Thankfully we are slowly moving healthcare into the 21st century, and it is through pioneering partnerships like that between Compuware Covisint and the state of Georgia that we will begin to transform healthcare into a highly collaborative, efficient system."

Covisint's collaborative healthcare framework consists of portal, messaging, unstructured data-management and security services. These capabilities help healthcare entities-regardless of size, location or technical sophistication-collaborate and communicate effectively.
