Bustronic Announces Cost Saving Easyplug(TM) CompactPCI Backplanes
FREMONT, California, Aug. 3, 2004 - Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high performance backplanes has announced a new line of EasyPlug(TM) CompactPCI backplanes. The new backplanes have pluggable modules that eliminate cabling in the chassis, reducing system assembly costs and allowing more swappability.
The new 3U, 6U, and 9U EasyPlug CompactPCI backplane lines allow pluggability for power supplies, fan trays, and utility headers. This reduces mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) and time-consuming cabling costs. The 3U and 6U versions come with 47-pin power supply connectors in a vertically mounted orientation. The 9U EasyPlug cPCI come with the connectors horizontally mounted.
Bustronic cPCI backplanes conform to the latest PICMG specifications. Full support is also provided for PICMG 2.11 control signals (FAL# and DEG#) and serial I2C system management bus signals (SCL, SDA and PWR), with connectors available for access to status signals and direct links to the cPCI backplane. The cPCI backplanes incorporate computer-simulated stripline design for high performance. With optimal power dispersion and distributed high and low frequency decoupling capacitors, the CompactPCI backplanes deliver virtually zero crosstalk.
The 3U EasyPlug currently comes in an 8-slot size, while the 6U version is offered in 8, 14, and 16-slots. The 9U horizontal cPCI backplanes are available in 2, 4, 6, and 8 slots sizes.
