Ultra-Compact VHF Radio Offers Enhanced Style & Performance

MERRIMACK, N.H. and MIAMI, Feb. 14 -- Miami International Boat Show -- Raymarine, Inc., a world leader in marine electronics, today announced the release of its new Ray49 DSC VHF Radio, a compact VHF Radio with NMEA 0183 output for chartplotter position polling and Class D Digital Select Calling. Raymarine's most compact VHF radio to date, the Ray49 provides top notch performance paired with a space saving and stylish design, allowing boaters to enhance communications on the water while maintaining a sleek and sophisticated look.

The Ray49's Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) transceiver and DSC Distress key enable boaters to communicate vital emergency information including the boat's ID, GPS position and time of distress in the event of an emergency. The Ray49 can also receive minute-by-minute NOAA weather alerts, providing boaters with the latest reports when out to sea.

"With the new Ray49, we continue our long-held tradition of providing the marine market with quality and reliable VHF radios," said Dave Bimschleger, president of Raymarine, Inc. "The Ray49 allows our customers to confidently head out on the water knowing everything they need for communicating effectively and accurately is only an arms length away."

The well-equipped Ray49 is ideal for smaller boats and comes equipped with crystal clear audio and remote microphone controls, easy-to-use intuitive rotary controls for channel, volume, squelch and menu operation and programmable scanning, which allows boaters to access the proper frequency with greater speed. The radio also offers a quick access 16/9 key embedded within the handset, a rear flush mount kit option and, as an added bonus for the more style-conscious user, two color options: gray or marine white.
