Borries Introduces Compact Marking Unit for Short-run Direct Marking Applications

ANN ARBOR, MI —The Borries DOTStar 520 is the first of its kind — a compact, programmable workshop unit designed specifically for one-off production runs and small volume series.

The DOTStar provides for permanent, flexible marking on a wide range of metal and plastic workpieces. It features a generous marking area (120 mm x 100 mm) that allows for text of one or more lines in free scalable size, along with angles, circular arcs, and date, time, and consecutive numeration. The unit accommodates 7x5, 9x7 dot-peening and vibropeening marking fonts as well as datamatrix coding to the ECC200 specification. The coordinate unit operates with dynamic stepping motors and a low noise drive belt. A precision marking head ensures repeatable performance.

The DOTStar 520 comes with Borries’ VisuWin SE marking software, developed to easily enter marking data and text parameters. A graphical user interface enables quick installation and adaptation of marking layouts.
