The New Devlin KSM-096 Kiosk Keyboard Full Layout - Compact Footprint

August 2009 - Devlin today announce a new addition to their broad range of stainless steel kiosk keyboards offering further layout flexibility.

The new KSM-096 is designed to fit into the middle of the Devlin range which already contains full size and reduced layout kiosk keyboards. The KSM-096 features a compact layout but this is achieved without removing the separate number pad or function keys. The compact design means the KSM-096 has a footprint of only 420x165mm, ideal for use in confined spaces. The new KSM-096 is in fact only around 20mm longer and wider than the Devlin reduced layout KSM & KSR-067 kiosk keyboards.

This new Devlin kiosk keyboard is an innovative design which fills a gap in the market for kiosk users who require the function keys and a separate number pad but must work within strict space confinements. Martin Baker, Devlin Electronics Managing Director, elaborates "we found that in many applications customers required a full keyboard layout but often would struggle to design in a full sized keyboard as this would bloat the work space to an unsuitable size. We feel the new KSM-096 solves that problem."

The KSM-096 features high quality vandal protection to survive even the most severe misuse. The keyboard is sealed to IP65 so is protected against the ingress of water and dust. Both the keyboard keys and the trackball feature over-travel protection, this means that under impact they will not collide and damage the electronics below. Given proper use the keys are designed to last up to 3 million individual operations.

The keyboard comes with USB connectivity as standard and a choice of 27 standard languages. The keys are laser marked at their UK manufacturing headquarters by Devlin so they are able to accommodate most custom request with minor cost implication.

Baker concluded by saying, "The KSM-096 continues our tradition of manufacturing high quality rugged kiosk keyboard here at our UK headquarters."
