Murata Electronics Introduces World's Smallest Isolator
Mobile Phone Manufacturers Benefit from Reduced Size and Progressive Design
Smyrna, GA, November 17, 2008 - Murata Electronics North America, a world-leading innovator in electronics and the largest global supplier of ceramic passive components, today introduced the smallest isolator on the market. The CEG23 series measures only 2.0mm x 2.0mm x 1.0mm - representing a 56 percent reduction in size from current Murata isolators. The dramatically compact dimension makes this high performance isolator ideal for multi-band, mobile phones.
The CEG23 series isolator's innovative design not only decreases size, but increases benefits for engineers. The new isolator includes LGA terminals, which contribute to the reduction of mounting space and adds freedom in the RF circuit layout. In addition, Murata reduced characteristics such as dispersion, insertion loss and variation within the bandwidth by using a new electrode construction, improving production processes and introducing a new integrated circuit board. This series also inherits the two-port circuit technology from current models to maintain excellent matching with the power amplifier.
"Murata developed the CEG series in response to the multi-band, multi-mode mobile phone market's growing demand for smaller versions of RF components," stated Scott Klettke, Senior Group Product Manager for RF & Microwave. "Murata's ability to anticipate critical design needs such as size reduction and unparalleled performance is demonstrated in the new offering."
Murata's CEG series is available for the sample price of $1.50. Additional purchasing info can be found online at www.murata-northamerica.com. Lead time is approximately ten weeks.
The CEG series builds on Murata's recognition as a leader in the microwave arena, contributing to the evolution of cellular communications through the miniaturization and improved performance of components and modules. Murata's products for use in communications systems includes isolators, Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) filters, filter banks, and duplexers, antennas, RF switches and switching modules, high frequency coaxial connectors, chip multilayer hybrid baluns, diplexers, and couplers and connectivity modules.
