New Lexair Tri-Grip 5C Hydraulic Collet Closer Proves Ideal For Custom Machining Center Applications
LEXINGTON. KY (November 16. 2001) - The new Tri-Grip 5C high pressure hydraulic collet closer from Lexair, Inc., designed for heavy duty clamping, is ideal for custom workholding applications in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
The Tri-Grip 5C collet closer operates three collets at a time with each one on a uniform 2 1/2" center and its unique patent pending design locates the collet locking screw access on top of the collet block, which allows infinite collet or part orientation.
With a compact design and simplified hydraulic plumbing, the new collet closer operates at a maximum of 5,000 psi hydraulic pressure. The capacity of the new collet closer is 1.062 for standard 5C collets and the drawtube force is 1.1 X line pressure.
A double-acting cylinder design ensures positive opening and closing of the collet. The new aluminum high-pressure hydraulic 5C collet closer is a fixed length design so that the collet and part do not move, maintaining a fixed height from part to part.
Its small, compact profile allows multiple closers to be clustered on a single fixture plate by utilizing Lexair Hydraulic Connector bushings to reduce both footprint and hose requirements.
