ROPAK(TM) Hopper Bottom Containers Use Gravity to Dispense Small Parts, Products
GEORGETOWN, KY (February 14, 2005) - The ROPAK(TM) Hopper Bottom reusable, collapsible container from LINPAC Materials Handling easily and accurately dispenses small, uniformly-shaped parts or products through the use of gravity and an easy-to-operate dispensing chute. These features make the container ideal for granular-type materials such as seed, grain, powders, dry chemicals, bulk solids, crowns and closures, preforms, and resins. By eliminating the need to dump contents through secondary removal processes, the Hopper Bottom container can significantly help reduce labor, packaging, and material handling costs in both manufacturing and distribution operations.
The Hopper Bottom's steeply inclined, smooth interior leads to a 6.25" x 11" dispensing chute. An adjustable side-mounted sliding gate is used to dispense product, giving the operator full control over flow rate while minimizing waste and spills. For applications where security is important, the sliding gate includes a "tamper-evident" feature.
All ROPAK Hopper Bottom containers are constructed of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and offer a maximum weight capacity of 2000 lbs. (907 kg.). They feature a 45" x 48" base with 4-way fork entry and height options of 39", 48" and 50". Volume capacities are 25.3 cu. ft. (0.71 cu. meters), 34.8 cu. ft. (0.97 cu. meters), and 37 cu. ft. (1.04 cu. meters) respectively. Return ratios are 1.4:1 for the 39" high container, 1.8:1 for the 48" high container, and 1.7:1 for the 50" high container.
Several optional accessories are offered, including plastic liner bags, discharge inserts and side discharge stands. Sturdy, aluminum frame container stands are available to convert the Hopper Bottom to a side-discharge option. Vibration units can also be attached to the stand for automated dispensing.
When empty, the Hopper Bottom container collapses to a fraction of its assembled height. Full or empty, they can be stacked without racking for efficient use of overhead space. Warehouse utilization can be increased up to 300% when compared to other storage methods.
The Hopper Bottom container is RFID-ready and, as with all LINPAC Materials Handling products, its workmanship and materials are guaranteed with a three-year warranty. The container may be recycled at the end of its useful life.
