Coils suit solenoid valves in hazardous environments.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for use in Lucifer stainless steel solenoid valves as well as brass and aluminum X valves, "d mb" and "ia" ATEX-certified 37 mm Electrical Coils meet T6 temperature classes. Stainless steel fittings and IP67 protection level permit coils to be used where ambient constraints are hard, aggressive, and sometimes corrosive. By using booster technology for "ia" product, current consumption is reduced to 20-15 mA, allowing usage in markets with intrinsically safe electrical circuits.

New Range of Coils Broadens the Usage of Parker Solenoid Valves in Hazardous Environments

Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has launched new ATEX certified 37 mm electrical coils for use on its Lucifer range of stainless steel solenoid valves as well as the brass and aluminum X valves. These coils broaden even further the usability of these valves especially in the oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical markets, in which environmental working conditions can be very severe.

These brand new products are ATEX and IECEX certified, and are dedicated to stainless steel 2/2, 3/2 valves as well as 4/2 & 5/2 way valves. The "d mb" and "ia" ATEX certified products, meet T6 temperature classes, and the stainless steel fittings and the IP67 protection level, permit the new 37mm CPR range to meet customer's needs and applications where ambient constraints are hard, aggressive and sometimes corrosive (e.g. explosive atmosphere, water, salt, temperature, etc ...).

By using the 'booster' technology for the "ia" product (ref. 496565) the current consumption is reduced (20 - 15 mA , activation then holding) allowing usage in all markets where intrinsically safe electrical circuits are normal (IS barriers and remote I/O modules).

This new 37 mm CPR range (ref. 496555 and 496560) gives customers in the process market the opportunity to benefit from the features of the current successful 37 mm "d mb" classic range, with the same 'international innovative patented 'ATEX flameproof plastic enclosure "d"', resulting in reduced size and weight, attractive design, and reduced costs when compared with traditional cast iron solutions.

The international ATEX certification, IECEX allows the 37 mm CPR electrical coils to be used in all countries, without the need for any additional local certification.

With annual sales exceeding $10 billion, Parker Hannifin is the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of commercial, mobile, industrial and aerospace markets. The company employs approximately 52,000 people in 48 countries around the world. Parker has increased its annual dividends paid to shareholders for 53 consecutive years, among the top five longest-running dividend-increase records in the S&P 500 index.
