High Performance Coaxial Cables Now Available from C & M Corporation

WAUREGAN, CONN. Sept 15, 2004-C&M Corporation, a leading designer and manufacturer of high performance cables and assemblies serving worldwide markets, announces gas injection production capabilities for high performance coaxial cables. These ultra high frequency (2.5-8 GHz) low loss coaxes are intended for use in high-speed digital and multimedia applications, as well as wireless voice and data transmission applications.

Gas injection technology utilizes inert nitrogen gas for the dielectric foaming. This technology creates a cellular foam structure with highly uniform cells. Gas injection is an extremely consistent process allowing higher levels of foaming, up to 70% voids by volume.

Dielectric foaming also provides enhanced electrical performance. Benefits of gas injection are lower attenuation, higher velocity of propagation (VP), and lower time delay. The gas injection process also allows tighter control over impedance, capacitance and structural return loss (SRL).

Constructions for C&M's new coax cables range from 10 AWG-30 AWG, with a maximum overall diameter of .400". Besides single coaxes, bundles of up to 20 coaxes are available. Other constructions available include composite cables with coaxes, twisted pairs, parallel pairs and control cables.
