Digital Clinometer for Precise Angle Measurements
Clinometers have been used for measuring inclination relative to gravity for nearly one hundred years. The first mechanical units manufactured by Taylor Hobson were used for sighting in artillery cannons during World War I. High accuracy over a wide range has always made the instruments ideal for aerospace, defense and civil engineering work. Now the company has introduced a digital clinometer that is practical for a wider range of applications. Battery power, sturdy construction and compact size (4"x3"x1.3") make it suitable for use anywhere.
Measuring range is +/- 45 degrees with 0.01 degrees resolution and accuracy within 2 minutes of arc. Display units are push button selectable to indicate results in degrees, minutes of arc, mm/meter, inch/12 inches and mm or inch/user defined relative base. Automatic setting to absolute or relative zero measuring modes is also selectable by push button. All four sides of the hard-anodized aluminum frame are precision machined to make possible angle measurement in any quadrant. A built in calibration program ensures that the calibration is always current and correct.
