Global Care Quest Announces ICIS 5

Upgraded Integrated Clinical Information Systems Suite Delivers Real Time Patient Data Via Desktop PCs, Handheld Devices and Web Browsers

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Nov. 16 -- Advanced healthcare information systems developer Global Care Quest, Inc. today announced ICIS 5, a newly enhanced version of the company's award-winning Integrated Clinical Information System (ICIS). ICIS pulls critical patient data such as labs, demographics, X-Rays, CT Scans, and vitals in realtime from diverse hospital systems, and delivers it to physicians and other members of the medical team via desktop PCs, laptops, smartphones and handheld devices.

Among the most significant enhancements in ICIS 5 are:

o A monitoring and alerting module that provides early identification of
patients with degrading conditions

o A new web-based system that makes patient summary data and notes
available from any web browser

o Enhanced access to medication, microbiology and nursing notes data from
all major healthcare information systems (HIS)

o A patient explorer that allows caregivers to quickly obtain a summary
of a patient's condition and course of treatment from virtually any
location.

"ICIS 5 is a major advance in the drive to provide healthcare professionals the most complete and up-to-the-minute information they need to make critical patient care decisions," said Cleve Adams, CEO of Global Care Quest. "With ICIS 5 physicians and other members of the medical team will be able to better monitor patients and make faster, more informed decisions regardless of whether they're bedside, on another floor or away from the hospital."

A suite of solutions, ICIS 5 includes desktop PC, mobile and web-based systems that work together to deliver patient information to users from virtually any location and device. The ICIS 5 Suite includes:

o ICIS Dashboard
A desktop, laptop or tablet-based system that presents patient
information such as demographics, labs, X-Ray and CT Scan images,
realtime vitals, medications, microbiology and nursing notes in a
single, customizable "dashboard-style" display.

o ICIS Mobile
Enables users with handheld devices, PDAs and smartphones to access the
same patient data presented in ICIS Dashboard via wireless and mobile
cellular networks.

o ICIS Web
Allows medical team members to observe the status of one, some or all
patients on a floor or unit and be immediately alerted to those who may
be deteriorating based on critical scoring systems such as Glycemia,
MEWS, SAPS II, and APACHE II via any computer with an Internet
connection and web browser. Caregivers can also view patient
summaries, print rounding notes, and access their own customizable
"health portal".

"Because healthcare providers are increasingly mobile professionals, it's critical that they have access to all the patient information they need when and where they need it," Adams said. "ICIS 5 aims to eliminate the 'information islands' that exist in hospitals by pulling the data from disparate and non-integrated HIS solutions and putting it in front of the caregiver wherever they might be. What's more, ICIS's patient scoring and visual alerting helps identify those patients whose condition may be deteriorating and gives the medical team the ability to take action faster and earlier than previously possible."

ICIS 5 is especially well suited for high acuity areas such as Intensive Care Units, Operating Rooms, and Emergency Departments, as well as step down units and other areas where Rapid Response and Emergency Management Teams may be required. The system's mobile and multi-platform architecture also make it highly useful in multi-hospital and remote location environments.

ICIS 5 will be available early in the first quarter of 2007. For more information and a demonstrations, please contact Global Care Quest at Global Care Quest, 65 Enterprise, Suite 350, Aliso Viejo, California 92656, tel: (949) 330-7450, or email: sales@globalcarequest.com
