Chipset supports data rates up to 12.5 Gb/sec.

Press Release Summary:

Model iTH10-4000 electronically converts non-return-to-zero (NRZ) input signal into return-to-zero (RZ) output signal, which is then directly amplified by modulator driver for use in OC-192 long haul and ultra long haul fiber optic networks. Chipset requires input voltage of 500 mV to deliver singled ended data output voltage of 8 Vpp.

Original Press Release:

iTerra Communications LLC Announces Industry First Chip set for NRZ-to-RZ Conversion for OC-192 Applications iTerra's New High-speed Converter and Driver Chipset enables designers to utilize RZ modulation formats for improved speed and data quality.

Fremont, CA, September 10, 2002 -- iTerra Communications LLC., the drivers behind optical communications and the leading supplier of Smart Broadband Semiconductors, announced today the availability of iTH10-4000 non-return-to-zero (NRZ) return-to-zero (RZ) converter.

iTerra's new chipset electronically converts an NRZ input signal into an RZ output signal which is then directly amplified by one of iTerra's modulator drivers for use in OC-192 long haul and ultra long haul fiber optic networks requiring high quality signals.

The iTH10-4000 supports data rates of up to 12.5Gb/s with superior eye diagram quality and a power dissipation of less than 1.5W. iTerra's chipset delivers industry leading performance requiring an input voltage of only 500mV to deliver a single ended data output voltage of 8Vpp.

"iTerra Communications continuously strives to offer the optimal solution to the customer" said Paolo Tabacco, Vice President of Engineering at iTerra. "With the iTH10-4000's excellent jitter and rise and fall time specs this is an ideal device for the long haul and ultra long haul market." "In addition when paired with an iTerra driver provides a complete RZ driver solution to the customer"

The iTH10-4000 is currently sampling to customers and is available for purchase on an evaluation fixture or as bare die, a surface mount package version is scheduled for availability in Q1 2003.
