UHMW-H.O.T. Chain Guides Replace Teflon® in Applications up to 275°F
Custom engineered chain guides for high-wear and high-heat applications up to 275°F, that can save up to 80% over the cost of Teflon®, are being introduced by SLIDEWAYS, Inc. of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
Slideways UHMW-H.O.T. Chain Guides are a suitable replacement for Teflon® in applications up to 275°F because it is nearly as slippery, but provides better abrasion-resistance, claims the firm. Offered as curved or straight sections up to 30 ft. long, they can be fabricated in styles that can accommodate all ANSI and metric standard roller chains and side flexing chains.
Designed to extend maintenance intervals, Slideways UHMW-H.O.T. Chain Guides can withstand 1,200 psi max. static loads and exhibit only 15 VL (volume loss) in the sand slurry abrasion test where steel equals 100 VL and PTFE was 72VL. These chain guides meet FDA guidelines 21CFR178.2010 and 21CFR177.1520 and are USDA compliant.
Slideways UHMW-H.O.T. Chain Guides are priced according to configuration and cost about one-fifth as much as Teflon®.
