Ceragon Deploys Wireless IP Solution in New Orleans

Following Hurricane Katrina, Deep South Communications was Selected to Build a Communications Network Using Ceragon's Microwave Products

TEL AVIV, Israel, July 11/ -- Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRNT; TASE: CRNT),
www.ceragon.com, a leading provider of high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions, is deploying Ceragon's FibeAir IP-MAX wireless radios to provide continuous communications of mission essential data for use during tropical storms and major hurricane events.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Ceragon's wireless solution was chosen by Deep South Communications to supply a communication system that is designed to continue uninterrupted during a category 5 hurricane. The FibeAir IP-MAX is designed to provide continuous full motion IP video and site Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Ceragon's wireless technology will support communications between Outfall Control Structures and associated Pumping stations, and Emergency Operations Center in New Orleans. Ceragon's solution will enable primary communications between the outfall canals and back-up communications along the canals.

"Ceragon is proud to have been selected to provide a reliable communications infrastructure and a mission critical communications system that will be operational during future hurricanes," said Ira Palti, President and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd. "Ideal for municipal networks, Ceragon's wireless solution will enable the level monitoring of Lake Ponchartrain and the outfall canals during future storms events or hurricanes that threaten the City of New Orleans."

By combining native IP and TDM capabilities, the microwave solution deployed is more cost-effective than fiber and is easily upgradeable for future bandwidth.
