Capital Program Intelligence Instantly Leverages Distributed Project Information
SAN JOSE, Calif.-December 18, 2006-Centric Software, the leading provider of Capital Program Intelligence(TM) solutions for global executives and multidisciplinary teams, today announced that a major U.S. construction company has expanded its use of Centric Project from 1,500 to 5,000 users and standardized national and international users on the software. Additionally the company, which specializes in land & site, transportation, oil, gas and marine construction, recently deployed Centric Connection(TM) to ensure rapid widespread adoption of Centric Project(TM), manage its global capital project information, and ultimately save thousands of hours annually locating test reports, site reports, photos, and other construction documents. The deployment was completed in just one month.
Online Project Management Software
This major U.S. construction company cited commercial success based on their use of Centric Project as the project management application in use in multiple, global high-profile construction projects as the primary reason behind its decision to standardize worldwide. To elevate all projects to the same level of success, the company needed to ensure worldwide adoption of Centric Project, with all project personnel using the system. However, many project personnel relied on project information stored on shared drives. Therefore, the company also deployed 25 Centric Connectors to automatically make the distributed project information available for immediate use by all administrators, engineers, and construction managers. In addition, the Centric Connectors alleviate the hundreds of hours per month spent manually retrieving information. Every night, Centric Connectors automatically connect to multiple remote servers and upload relevant documents including MS Word®, Excel®, CAD and digital photos into the Centric Project environment.
"To leverage the success of other projects as quickly as possible, this company adopted a unique approach: using automated connectivity to overcome the barrier of distributed information, and rapidly create an online project management environment for all global personnel," said Chris Groves, CEO of Centric Software. "This connectivity and automated worldwide access to distributed project information is unique among the project management offerings for the construction industry and reinforces Centric's strong position for large-scale construction projects and capital program management."
Centric Project provides global teams with a secure online workspace for project, process, document, and activity management as well as analysis of key metrics. Centric Connection bridges islands of information stored in leading applications and repositories as well as in-house and legacy systems with off-the-shelf and custom "Connectors." Connectors automatically retrieve the most current information or documents from multiple sources including MCAD, EDA, CAE, PDM, ERP, SCM and document management systems, and present it in meaningful new ways to improve decision-making, and accelerate project execution.
