Centillium Completes TR-069 and TR-104 Interoperability Testing; Joins MotiveSmart Verification Program

Atlanta and Palladia Chips Meet Industry Standards for Remote Management and Provisioning of Broadband 2.0 Services

FREMONT, Calif., Oct. 17 // -- Centillium Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTLM), a leading provider of broadband access solutions, today announced that its Atlanta(TM) and Palladia(TM) families of chipsets have successfully completed interoperability testing with Motive, Inc.'s Home Device Manager(TM) (HDM) software. Meeting this milestone, Centillium's chipsets with Motive's HDM software provide a "no touch," remote management solution for next-generation access products delivering premium Triple Play services.

The tests were conducted as part of the MotiveSmart(TM) Verification Program, which evaluates and verifies whether manufacturers and semiconductor providers of customer premises equipment (CPE) adhere to the DSL Forum's WAN Management Protocol standards, TR-069, and provisioning parameters for VoIP CPE, TR-104. Interoperability with Motive's HDM software ensures that CPE manufacturers that use Centillium chipsets will have solutions that work seamlessly with Motive's TR-069 and TR-104 standards-based solutions deployed by many of the world's largest broadband providers. These technologies enable providers of Broadband 2.0 services such as IPTV, VoIP and advanced home networking to remotely activate, support and upgrade CPE in consumer homes, thus streamlining the delivery and ongoing management of premium Triple Play services.

"CPE vendors and broadband service providers are feeling immense pressure to deploy voice, video and data services, and interoperability assurance is a vital requirement in delivering these services quickly and cost-effectively," said Didier Boivin, vice president of marketing, Centillium. "Interoperability with Motive's HDM is a key differentiator for Centillium. Expanding on our market leading, integrated VoIP broadband solution, this partnership will advance Centillium's capabilities in provisioning and management of devices with VoIP."

"Semiconductor solutions offering true interoperability with device management specifications such as TR-069 and TR-104 are pivotal to service providers' ability to roll out Broadband 2.0, next-generation Triple Play services," said RJ Brideau, vice president of business and channel development, Motive. "The Centillium and Motive combination enables device manufacturers and service providers to have best-of-breed remote management and an integrated VoIP broadband solution."

The Atlanta product family is designed to optimize costs and reduce the time-to-market of today's VoIP products for the consumer and small business markets.

The Palladia product family is a highly integrated CPE ADSL chipset that implements a powerful physical layer ADSL engine and innovative eXtremeDSLMAX technology to achieve industry leading data rates and reach.
