Cedar Point Communications to Demonstrate Support for Business Services at CableLabs® Winter Conference

DERRY, N.H., March 5 -- Cedar Point Communications, the leader in integrated VoIP switching technologies for the cable and telecommunications industries, today announced that it will demonstrate the ability of its SAFARI C(Cubed) Multimedia Switching System to support the entry of cable system operators into the Business Services market at the CableLabs® Winter Conference March 5-7 in Denver, CO.

In its demonstration at the Hyatt Regency, Cedar Point will show how SAFARI C(Cubed) can enable cable operators to deliver and manage hosted business features and services that minimize customer premises equipment. The demonstration will show SAFARI C(Cubed)'s support for Commercial Services Groups of multiple lines belonging to a single business, including such features as: Custom Dial Plans among various lines of the CSG; Local Attendant access, rather than the cable network operator, by dialing "0"; and Coordinated Billing. In addition, such features as Multi-Line Hunt Groups, Call Hold and Call Transfer also will be shown.

"While estimates of the size of the Business Services market vary from $120-$130 billion, there is absolute agreement that it is an enormous opportunity for cable system operators," said Mark Dzuban, vice chairman of Cedar Point Communications. "By incorporating business features into SAFARI C(Cubed), we hope to offer operators of all sizes a simpler, more cost- effective way to generate revenue from commercial customers."

The only totally integrated carrier class VoIP switch that incorporates all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure, SAFARI C3 provides SIP-based features and seamless evolution to an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture. SAFARI C(Cubed) provides superior performance and reliability, significantly reducing capital expenditures, system integration and operations costs for network operators offering telephony services while increasing network integrity, security and privacy.

SAFARI C(Cubed) is PacketCable(TM)-qualified and future-architected to fit within an IMS core network infrastructure, allowing network operators to leverage their initial equipment investment in voice as they introduce such services as video telephony and fixed-mobile applications. New applications can be integrated into SAFARI C(Cubed), or can be accessed via third-party application servers.
