Picture Perfect Imaging Solutions

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 2003 - The new Redlake MegaPlus II family of cameras include single and 3-CCD cameras with resolutions up to 11 megapixels per single CCD, and frame rates up to 30 fps. The MegaPlus II imaging system is designed to provide superior image quality with maximum flexibility and ease of use. A central camera controller houses the camera calibration and imaging electronics, and connects to computing systems via Ethernet, Camera Link or Firewire. Separating the camera electronics and supporting image handling software from the sensors allows MegaPlus II cameras to maintain cooler sensors and achieve lower noise and higher dynamic range than comparable cameras. Independent and interchangeable camera heads provide a serialized digital stream of raw image data to the
controller. Because the data is serialized, the interconnection cable between the head and the controller can be very thin and flexible. Customers may change the camera heads as their needs
change or as new sensors become available without having to redesign their interface. This protects their investment and prevents their systems from becoming obsolete. The color and
monochrome tethered camera heads are small enough to fit in the tightest areas. Redlake provides OEM customized versions of the cameras to support end-user integrated solutions.
