Tarpon Springs, FL - For packagers who are using hand labor to load shrinkwrapped multipacks of cartoned products into shipping cases, A-B-C offers a case packing alternative that is gentle, compact, and economical. The SP-29 Case Packer automatically indexes and accumulates each product load before sliding it through stainless steel loading funnels into the shipping case, providing a smooth and gentle packing method that protects the shrink overwrap from wrinkling or tearing. This case packer occupies only 75 square feet of floor space, making it easy to install where space is limited. While the packer requires a full-time operator to open corrugated cases and place them on the
loading funnel, it can easily replace a hand packing crew and increase case packing speed up to 15 cases per minute, depending on the product and operator dexterity.
Operation is simple. The product is indexed and oriented as it is conveyed to the packer. As each case load is accumulated, the operator opens a knockdown case, places it on the packing funnel, and presses the activation button. The case is secured by a loading arm as the accumulated product load is packed into the case. The packed case is lowered to the takeaway conveyor which transfers it to a top and bottom case sealer.
