PFU Systems(TM) Expands its Rapid Time-to-Market System-on-Module Approach to Wireless Tablet Computing for Embedded Applications

PFU Systems' Plug-N-Run(TM) G3 System-on-Modules and its new TabletCARD(TM) carrier board provide OEMs with a rapid time-to-market building block approach for wireless tablet computing with Intel® Pentium® M processors.

CTIA 2004 Atlanta, Georgia, March 22, 2004 - PFU Systems, Inc., manufacturer of System-on-Modules (Computer-on-Modules) for embedded solutions, announced today a new Plug-N-Run(TM) G3 carrier board for wireless tablet-computing applications -- the TabletCARD(TM). With the TabletCARD, the Company expands the time-to-market benefits of the System-on-Module (SOM) approach to wireless tablet-computing applications in industrial, healthcare, transportation, security and other vertical embedded industries.

"The combination of the TabletCARD and the Plug-N-Run G3 is a compelling platform for OEMs to rapidly introduce feature-rich, scalable, wireless, embedded tablet-computing products based on Intel® Pentium® M processors." said Kishan Jainandunsing, vice president marketing of PFU Systems, Inc. "The Plug-N-Run G3 modules are the only modules in the industry that package complete Intel® Pentium® M processor motherboard functionality in a pre-tested off-the-shelf component with fully scalable processor performance. The TabletCARD provides all board-level interfaces and expansions for secure, wireless tablet-computing. OEMs can use the TabletCARD as an off-the-shelf item in their products, or for prototyping and as a reference design in a custom approach. In either scenario, OEMs significantly reduce development cost, risk and time-to-market of Intel® Pentium® M embedded tablet-computing products with Intel® Pentium® M processors."
