New Level Sensor Protects Against Overflow
EXTON, PA...ifm efector inc. introduces the new LI Series level sensor that provides overflow protection in fluid sensing applications. The sensor can be used as an independent overflow protection device or with other level sensors for added security against overflow. The LI also offers reliable limit level detection in tanks, indicating the high or low level of fluids or solid materials including powders, granulars and plastic regrind.
The LI sensor uses capacitive sensing technology to detect the level of product. A non-mechanical sensor, the LI has no moving parts that can stick or break. The sensor incorporates a patented circuit design that provides immunity to electrical noise.
The sensor's 16mm diameter probe is inserted directly into the fluid. The probe is highly resistant to aggressive oils and lubricants. Setup and adjustment is easy using the sensor's pushbutton "teach" function without removing the sensor from the process. An LED display indicates operating status.
The LI sensor features modular mounting by offering a variety of probe lengths that can be adapted to most level sensing applications. Probes are available in four lengths: 5 inches (127mm), 11 inches (280mm), 19 inches (482mm), and 29 inches (737mm). The probe lengths can be further adjusted by using a variety of mounting clamps and adapters.
The LI is a DC, PNP unit, programmable normally open or normally closed with an accuracy of ±5%. List price for the sensor ranges from $120 to $135 US.
