Cangene Corporation Goes Live with Sparta Systems' Trackwise Quality & Compliance Management Software

New System Rapidly Adopted by the User Community

HOLMDEL NJ USA -- NOV 13 2006 -- Sparta Systems, Inc., the leader in enterprise quality and compliance management software for the life sciences and other highly regulated industries, announced today that Cangene Corporation (Cangene), a world leader in the development, manufacture and commercialization of specialty hyperimmunes and other biopharmaceutical products, has completed implementation of TrackWise® software. The TrackWise system is now being used in production at Cangene and will support the company's Deviation, Change Control, and related CAPA processes.

TrackWise is a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant, web-based tracking software tool for electronically managing, tracking and trending quality/regulatory issues, plus action items, across the enterprise. The ability of TrackWise to centralize unlimited quality processes into a single, integrated system helps organizations increase efficiencies and achieve compliance. TrackWise links and consolidates related events and actions, automates workflow, and facilitates trending and reporting across quality systems and organizational areas.

"The implementation of TrackWise at Cangene Corporation was a success, and the system has been well received by the user community," said Jeff Hartry, QA Director at Cangene. "Within two weeks of implementation, we documented a 60% user uptake, which demonstrates the user-friendliness of TrackWise. The rapid uptake momentum will speed the company's transition from our legacy systems to a centralized system, while increasing our ROI."

"Cangene develops and manufactures products focused on protecting our global society now, and for the future," commented Bruce Rotker, Senior Account Executive at Sparta. "We are pleased that Cangene has selected TrackWise as its enterprise quality management system."

"While moving to an electronic quality management system represents a culture change within Cangene Corporation, we are glad to be receiving so much positive feedback from our TrackWise users," commented Peggy Neal, Manager, Records & Information at Cangene. "The user community is pleased with the transparency of records and the ability to determine up-to-the-minute status of all issues and actions. TrackWise is another positive step toward our goal of continually increasing workplace productivity."

In parallel to the implementation, Cangene and Sparta joined forces this past summer to implement automation features to enhance TrackWise's enterprise training management capabilities. The new functionality, named TrackWise Training Manager(TM), was released in Sept 2006. Cangene is currently implementing this enhancement.

"Collaborating with our customers to continually enhance and improve our product is a key success factor of our product development process," stated Ran Flam, President/CEO of Sparta. "Cangene provided Sparta with valuable insight, and enabled our R&D department to better understand business needs and user requirements. Cangene is not just a valued customer, but also a valued business partner."

As a result of the initial success, Cangene has plans to expand its use of TrackWise for additional applications, including QA Investigations, Out of Calibration and Audit Management. Flam noted, "Applications can be implemented in the core TrackWise product, and do not require purchase, installation, or validation of any additional modules or software. This enables our customers to incrementally add applications at a pace that meets their business needs."
