Can-Eng Furnaces International Limited Receives Contract for Two Rotary Hearth Normalizing Furnaces, TVSZ, TIKHVIN, Russia
CAN-ENG FURNACES INTERNATIONAL LTD, is pleased to announce a contract for the supply of (2) 10 tph Rotary Hearth Normalizing furnaces with Quench and Temper capability. The Rotary Hearth Normalizing furnaces are for steel castings used in railcar truck assemblies, side frames and bolsters. The units will be supplied with a complete Level II Automation system, automated material handling, two (2) batch tempers, 80,000 liter quench tank c/w elevator, loading and unloading roller hearth conveyors with forced cooling on the post normalize side. Product is conveyed on cast alloy grids measuring approximately 10' x 10'. The equipment is destined for the Russian railcar manufacturer TVSZ, located in Tikhvin, Russia, 150 miles east of St. Petersburg. (www.tvsz.ru/en)
The CAN-ENG scope of supply covers the entire thermal processing needs of 73,000 tpy of combined normalizing and quench & temper. This double digit million dollar heat treatment cell is part of the larger $1B USD investment that will create a complete railcar casting, machining, and car assembly plant. Production is targeted at 12,000 railcars per year. A January 2011 start-up is anticipated.
