Can-Enabled EDC Now Available for Eaton Series 2 Pumps

EDEN PRARIE, MINN ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation is introducing a new Electronic Displacement Control (EDC) for use with Eaton Series 2 heavy-duty pumps.

The new control combines the flexibility of a SAE J1939-compatible Controller Area Network (CAN) command interface with a unique pump-mounted control that provides best-in-class performance for mobile and stationary applications. Design features and benefits include:
Low-control hysteresis (less than 1 percent) combined with digital command interface for optimal repeatability
Fully encapsulated digital control module with CE certification for EMC
Pump displacement control via SAE J1939 CAN interface
Field-proven, electro-proportional pump displacement control (model code type "SE") with electronic swash position feedback sensor
Advanced control monitoring, diagnostics, and parameter setting possible through PC-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) software

Eaton's CAN-enabled EDC for Series 2 pumps is suitable for both single and multiple pump installations, while allowing independent pump control via a centralized control system or PLC.

Direct operator interface with the CAN-enabled EDC can also be achieved using commercially available CAN-enabled joysticks, including the new Eaton UltronicsTM dual axis joystick.
