Cameras offer +6 dB sensitivity over previous models.

Press Release Summary:

Models CV-M7+ (color) and CV-M4+ (black and white) megapixel cameras feature serial interface protocol based on short ASCII commands. They provide 1392 x 1040 pixel resolution and utilize proprietary sample/hold and correlated double sampling (CDS) techniques. Features include asynchronous trigger; partial scan function; 8-bit video output (digitization via 10-bit A/D) as digital LVDS EIA-644; and full RS-232C control of gain, shutter speed, trigger mode, and partial scanning.

JAI Upgrades Popular Megapixel Camera Line with Higher Resolution, Improved Sensitivity

Copenhagen, Denmark-June 26, 2002- JAI A.S, a world-leader in high-performance industrial imaging products, announces that it has enhanced its popular CV-M7 (color) and CV-M4 (black and white) megapixel camera series to include higher resolution (increased from 1.3 to 1.45 million pixels), increased sensitivity (by 6dB), and reduced smear (by 2dB).

Designated the CV-M4+ and CV-M7+, the new cameras also feature the new JAI serial interface protocol, based on short ASCII commands, and LVDS or Camera Link interface for ease of system integration. The cameras provide 1392 by 1040 pixel resolution and utilize proprietary sample/hold and correlated double sampling (CDS) techniques to achieve double-speed readout without sacrificing dynamic range or image fidelity.

Driven by dramatic market growth for both color and B/W megapixel cameras, applications for the improved M Series cameras include PCB inspection, microscopy, medical imaging, food sorting and traffic monitoring. Additional features of particular importance in industrial applications include:

- Asynchronous Trigger that can be used in edge-trigger mode for fixed shutter speed or pulse-width mode to dynamically control shutter speed.

- Partial scan function that reduces vertical resolution by 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 with a corresponding increase in frame rate.

- 8-bit video output (digitization via 10-bit A/D) as digital LVDS EIA-644 commonly used by digital image acquisition boards.

- Full RS-232C control of gain, shutter speed, trigger mode, partial scanning, and other functions.

- Camera link version with 10-bit video output (Models CV-M4+CL, CV-M7+CL)
