Access to Complete Suite of Plunge Roughing Tools
The Zerbick Software Plunge Milling Add-In for ESPRIT allows users to take full advantage of a complete suite of plunge roughing tools. It works with Z-axis milling, a type of plunge milling that allows tools to remove large amounts of stock efficiently by transferring the milling torque axially along the cutting tool into the spindle. This method adds stability when working on deep pockets or with long tools. Stock is removed by plunging a series of holes with overlapping diameters. Vibration and chatter are minimized, allowing relatively high metal removal rates. The Zerbick Software Plunge Milling Add-in enables roughing of 2D pockets with or without islands. The add-in automatically calculates and identifies the location of pilot holes.
