California State University Selects Aruba as Primary Wireless LAN Network Vendor

Aruba Ranked First for Both Technology and Total Cost of Ownership From A Field of 14 Vendors

SUNNYVALE, California, September 26, 2007 - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a
global leader in user-centric networks and secure mobility solutions, today announced that the California State University system has selected Aruba's wireless networks for use across its 23 campuses.

With more than 417,000 students and 46,000 faculty and staff members, the California State University system is the largest in the country. Following an extensive review that whittled an initial list of fourteen suppliers down to four, California State University selected Aruba after it ranked first in a comprehensive technical assessment of eighty different criteria.

Aruba passed a stringent functional test, and demonstrated the lowest total cost of ownership for the specific criteria used in the evaluation. In 1995, the California State University launched a system-wide initiative to leverage technology to foster teaching, learning, research, communication, and collaboration. A stable and robust networking infrastructure is considered central to achieving these goals.

This includes both upgrading the physical plant and, on a recurring basis, introducing new networking equipment and support programs to keep pace with evolving technology. The university's 23 campuses and the Chancellor's Office network are presently undertaking a networking equipment upgrade, and it was for this upgrade that Aruba was selected as the leading vendor. Campuses will be upgraded based on when the original equipment was installed as well as the saturation of the existing network bandwidth.

The California State University evaluation included Aruba's secure mobility solutions that are purpose-built to provide high performance, easily deployed wireless networking with client-tocore security and centralized network and policy management. Compatible with existing LAN and core infrastructure, Aruba also offers a Secure Enterprise Mesh technology for networking security cameras and audio systems, remote buildings, athletic facilities, and temporary trailers. Aruba wireless LAN access points, Mobility Controllers, and security modules were assessed during networking equipment evaluation.

"Aruba has a long history of supplying advanced wireless networking solutions to universities, and several California State University campuses already use our networks," said Robert Fenstermacher, Aruba's education industry marketing manager. "Like Brown, Dartmouth, Ohio State University, Yale and many other universities, the California State University campus IT managers want centralized network management, end-to-end security, guest access, and robust wireless LANs. These features constitute strong points of Aruba's architecture, and we are delighted to have been selected as the primary vendor for this exciting project."
