Right Hemisphere® Launches Unigraphics® and CATIA® Modules For Deep Exploration(TM) and Deep Server(TM)

Modules for Deep Server and Deep Exploration Products Simplify the Repurposing of CAD Data for Training, Collaboration, Visualization, 3D Web Delivery and Technical Documentation

November 11, 2003, San Ramon, CA -- Right Hemisphere, a leading provider of Visual Information Systems (VIS), announced today the immediate availability of new Unigraphics® and CATIA® computer-aided design (CAD) Modules for its Deep Exploration and Deep Server products. These modules allow users to directly access and easily import CAD files created with CATIA and Unigraphics software into mission-critical business or office application.

Both CATIA and Unigraphics are industry-leading CAD/CAM products from Dassault Systemes and EDS, respectively, who together represent significant market share in the CAD/CAM market. Both applications allow manufacturers to simulate various stages of the industrial design processes, from the pre-project phase, through detailed design, analysis, simulation, assembly and maintenance.

Until recently, 3D data, created with products such as CATIA and Unigraphics, has been difficult to share with other users across the enterprise. Integrating 3D data -such as CAD engineering files- into other applications for marketing or training presentation development has been extremely cumbersome, time consuming, and sometimes impossible.

Right Hemisphere's software addresses the problem, enabling customers to access and repurpose complex 3D data across disparate applications and across the entire enterprise.
"The accurate translation of CAD data is crucial for productivity any time it is to be used in non-engineering applications," says Mark Thomas, president and founder, Right Hemisphere. "With the introduction of the CATIA and Unigraphics modules for Deep Exploration and Deep Server, users can now directly access 3D data in CATIA or Unigraphics, and seamlessly integrate it into other common desktop applications. Right Hemisphere's unique blend of entertainment and engineering expertise results in a solution that meets the needs of everyone throughout the organization."

The newly released CATIA CAD Module supports the .model file format. Support for CATIA 5 .CATPart and CATProduct formats is expected to be available in early 2004. The Unigraphics CAD Module supports the .prt file format. These modules are optimized for rapid loading of CAD data into Deep Exploration or Deep Server, while preserving the original integrity and structure of the CAD data. Attributes such as hierarchy and pivot points are accurately read to allow efficient repurposing of the data. These attributes are critical for efficient post-authoring of the CAD data when animation, materials and textures are added for visualization, design communication, training, technical documentation, sales and marketing, and customer support.

The Deep Exploration and Deep Server CAD Modules are available immediately from Right Hemisphere. For more information on the Deep Exploration CAD Modules, please email sales@righthemisphere.com. For more information on the Deep Server CAD Modules, please email deepserver@righthemisphere.com.
