Schott Systeme to Showcase New CAM Simulation at METAV

DÜSSELDORF, Germany, - CAD/CAM developer Schott Systeme GmbH will be using the METAV exhibition in Düsseldorf to showcase the latest version of their 'Pictures by PC' software for design and machining.

Focussing firstly on machining, this latest release is to include numerous additions to their existing full machine simulation module. By displaying machining directly from generated NC code, this visualisation of milling as it occurs on the shop floor helps to eliminate costly errors in damaged parts, fixtures and machine crashes. To be showcased on the METAV, new additions to this module will include improved collision detection of the machine head against the part and table, as well as the addition of the ARIX V450 5 axis machining center to their list of available machines.

Secondly the latest version of Pictures by PC's integrated hybrid surface, solid and mesh modelling tools will be presented to the METAV visitors. Improvements in this area sees the core modeller itself being updated to provide a more tolerant environment for the construction and repair of complex solid and surface components. To compliment this, customers having to work with scanned or stl data will have access to a suite of new tools to help in the analysis, repair and modification of mesh models.

Finally the company will be making two announcements at the METAV event to help manufacturing companies cope with the current economic climate. The first of these is that Schott Systeme is to continue for the 13th consecutive year, with the price freeze of their complete CAD/CAM solution. Secondly the company will maintain their policy of offering free technical support without the need to purchase a yearly maintenance contract. For more information, visit them in Düsseldorf in Hall 9 on stand D47.
