Cimatron E 4.2 Release Provides Robust 5-Axis Capabilities for Tooling Customers

Givat Shmuel, ISRAEL, February 17, 2003 - Cimatron Ltd. (NASDAQ: CIMT), a leading developer of CAD/CAM solutions for the tooling industry, today announced the release of Cimatron E 4.2. With this release, Cimatron has added new enhancements to its CAD/CAM for tooling software. These include 3-Axis and 5-Axis Milling, High-Speed Machining, and improved Design solutions. This release will maintain Cimatron's leading market position and provide customers with increased power and flexibility to stay ahead of the competition.

Cimatron E 4.2's improvement checklist includes the innovative QuickNC Technologies: Rough, Re-Rough and Clean-Up. The version also provides Aiming Surface in Flow Lines, True Spiral HSM, and 5-Axis Swarf Machining, where machining is carried out with the side of the cutter instead of the tip. In addition, Cimatron E 4.2 offers QuickDrill, a dedicated knowledge-based application for automation of the plate-drilling process, and a new version of WireEDM, which efficiently executes 2-axis and 4-axis Wire EDM operations. In the Design area, this release offers a range of improvements in Drafting, Assembly and Mold Design.

Cimatron E encompasses a set of powerful, easy-to-use 3D design tools. The unified solid-surface-wireframe modeling environment allows the user to manipulate imported data, or create conceptual part designs with equal ease. In the design process, Cimatron E smoothly integrates tools to split part geometry, finds and implements engineering changes, creates electrodes and inserts, and details tooling components. During manufacturing, Cimatron E implements 2.5- to 5-axis toolpaths using high-speed machining, knowledge of stock remaining and templates to dramatically reduce programming and machining time.

Natan Mossak, VP Sales of Cimatron, comments, "We are very satisfied with Cimatron E sales around the world and are confident that this release will position us as a leader in the tooling industry. With Cimatron E, we are becoming our customers' total solution - experts who assess customers' needs and partner with them to build appropriate solutions," he added.
