New Generation of Cable Trolleys for I-beams

Wampfler develops new type of cable trolley for specific application on STS container cranes / optimized technology helps to save costs

Weil am Rhein, October 2006. Wampfler AG has developed a new generation of cable trolleys for I-beams, suitable for flat and round cables with loop weights of 125 to 500 kg. Besides two revised and optimized types of cable trolleys for industry cranes as well as conveying and transport systems, Wampfler now offers a new type for specific use on STS container cranes with ropen-driven trolley and catenary trolley.

Due to their optimized technique these new cable trolley types, available from September, help to save maintenance and repair costs. Some basic improvements are vertically adjustable buffers, optimized energy absorption, as well as heavy duty clamping bars and better cable protection. All fasteners are made of stainless steel and thereby provide a better corrosion protection. Moreover, with the new defined combinations for the additional cable supports, buffer extensions are no longer required.

Engineering and development of festoon systems is a core competence of Wampfler, who is a worldwide industry leader in this field. Wampfler festoon systems are used worldwide in steel works, ports, galvanizing plants, composting plants etc.
