GMP's New Multi-Angle, Self-Adjusting Cable Block Reduces Friction When Pulling Fiber Optic Cable Around Corners
Trevose PA, May 1, 2002 -- General Machine Products Co., Inc. (GMP) introduces a new aerial cable block for the placement of large cable. The multi-angle, self-adjusting block reduces
friction when pulling cable around tight corners by adjusting itself from a maximum 12 in. (305 mm) bending radius down to a straight line. The pole-mounted corner block can be used in stringing applications that place cables up to 5 inches (127 mm) in diameter - such as three bundled 750 MCM cables or its equivalent.
The all-aluminum, heavy-duty block can be attached easily to a pole with its inclusive steel chain binder. The unit weighs just 63 lbs. (73 kg).
GMP designs, prototypes and manufactures tools, equipment and accessories for the aerial and underground placement of copper conductor, coaxial cable and fiber optic cable in the
telecommunications, power utility and cable television industries.
