Buyers Lab Recognizes Lexmark Document Distributor with Top Award, Five-Star Rating

Lexington, Ky. - 01/30/2007

Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), a leading printer and multifunctional testing laboratory, recently named Lexmark Document Distributor (LDD) its Fall Pick of the Year for Outstanding Scan Routing Solution. LDD, a software package from Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) designed to improve workflow, also received a prestigious five out of five stars in BLI's Solutions Report.

LDD is part of the Lexmark Document Solutions Suite, a software product line that makes it easy for customers to bridge the paper and digital worlds. LDD helps customers reduce cost and increase productivity by intelligently routing electronic content captured from Lexmark multifunction products (MFPs) to network folders, e-mail, fax servers, databases and enterprise content management systems from EMC2® documentum; FileNet®, an IBM® company; Hyland Software, Inc.; Interwoven® and Microsoft®.

"Lexmark Document Distributor is a very flexible solution that lets users scan documents quickly and easily to faxes, MFPs, network folders and a wide range of document management systems," BLI said. "The application is an excellent choice for companies looking for a very flexible application to accomplish a wide range of scan routing tasks."

LDD can integrate seamlessly into customers' existing workflow processes and can be customized to accomplish multi-step tasks at the touch of an icon. For example, LDD can create a single icon on the touchscreen interface of a Lexmark MFP to scan a document, e-mail it to a designated recipient, file it in a content management system and fax a copy to a second recipient, all initiated by simply touching an icon.

To help keep information secure, LDD can encrypt data from the time it is scanned in until it reaches its final destination and can also verify user identity by requiring authentication before documents are routed. LDD solutions are also easily scalable to meet the needs of a branch office, corporate headquarters or an entire global enterprise.

"Lexmark's Document Distributor is a proven productivity tool that has been implemented across the globe in a variety of enterprise environments to help solve our customers' unique workflow challenges," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division. "We are very pleased to receive this recognition from BLI."
