Busway Connector meets stringent safety requirements.

Press Release Summary:

Busway Connector enables 8PT and 8PV switchboards to be connected with LD and LX busway systems to form integrated, low-voltage power distribution system. Unit is designed for current range of 1,600-6,300 A and is available in IP20-IP54 degrees of protection. Offering reliable power distribution with high short-circuit strength and minimal fire load, connector eliminates active hot spots due to insulation faults and cable bundles.

Original Press Release:

Standardized Connection with System Integration

The recent development of a busway connector for the Sivacon product range from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) now enables 8PT and 8PV switchboards to be connected with the LD and LX busway systems to form an integrated low-voltage power distribution system. The combination of low-voltage switchboards and busway connector is type-tested and meets the most stringent safety requirements.

The busway connector for the IEC market is designed for a current range of 1600 to 6300 A and is available in IP20 to IP54 degrees of protection. As for all other products in the Sivacon range, the busway connector is integrated into the project engineering tools for low-voltage switchboards.

Background information:
Using Sivacon switchboards and busway systems, power at the low-voltage level is distributed reliably and flexibly throughout functional and industrial buildings, for example, local government and office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, airports, ships or exhibition centers. The Sivacon range comprises the 8PT and 8PV switchboards and the 8PS busway systems of the CD-K, BD01, BD2, LD, LX and PEC types. The advantage of using busways instead of conventional cable installations is reliable power distribution with a high short-circuit strength and minimal fire load. Active hot spots due to insulation faults and cable bundles are also prevented.
