Buoyancy Level Switch is designed for on/off control.

Press Release Summary:

Type 8181 utilizes decentralized intelligence technology, offering point-to-point connection between sensor and valve. Stem incorporates reed contact, float, and magnet. Depending on liquid level, float actuates Reed contact, which triggers remote alarm or controller via 2 or 5 m, 2-wire, shielded cable or relay module. Level switch functions in NO or NC configurations and is offered in stainless steel and polypropylene models. Max pressures range from 145-14.5 psi.

Burkert Introduces the Type 8181 Buoyancy Level Switch

Irvine, Calif., May 28, 2003 - Burkert introduces the Type 8181 Buoyancy Level Switch, built to detect liquid levels and switch pumps, valves, PLC relays and alarms. Type 8181 applications include level control, minimum and maximum level monitoring, leak detection, pump protection, and overfill protection.

The Type 8181 is designed for on/off control, with the unit's stem incorporating a Reed contact, float and magnet. Depending on the liquid level, the float actuates the Reed contact. This contact then triggers a remote alarm or controller via a 2- or 5-meter 2-wire shielded cable or relay module. The level switch functions in both the normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) configurations.

The Type 8181 is available in two model types: stainless steel and polypropylene. Process temperature range for the stainless steel model is -40F to 248F; for the polypropylene model, 14F to 176F. Maximum pressure for the stainless steel model is 145 psi (vertical installation) and 72.5 psi (horizontal installation); for the polypropylene model, 14.5 psi. Float density is approximately 125 lbs/ft3.

The Type 8181 takes advantage of Burkert's decentralized intelligence technology, offering an efficient point-to-point connection between sensor and valve. To enhance ASi connectivity, the unit utilizes Burkert's networking technology.
