Bumpless Case Turner gently handles fragile products.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for use in palletizing operations, Alvey® bumpless case turner eliminates bump-turning impact of conventional case turning methods. It employs technology to create speed differential under cases that can selectively and accurately generate negative 90° as well as positive 90°, 180°, and 270° case-turns. With max throughput rated at 72 cases/min, machine features auto-correct function with 2 laser sensors to ensure accurate case turning.

FKI Logistex Launches the Alvey Bumpless Case Turner

Patent-pending technology provides gentle product case turning for fragile products in palletizing operations (St. Louis, MO: October 18, 2004) FKI Logistex® (www.fkilogistex.com), a global leader in integrated material handling solutions, announces the launch of the Alvey® bumpless case turner, designed to gently handle and selectively turn fragile products requiring higher-speed case turning when moving into a palletizing operation. The Alvey bumpless case turner is now available as an upgrade to most of the Alvey palletizer line, including the high-speed inline continuous-flow and low-speed row-forming models. By eliminating the bump-turning impact of conventional case turning methods, the Alvey bumpless case turner provides an ideal solution for the case handling of bottles, paper goods, and food products during palletizing. It is also a solution for the beverage, paper, and meatpacking industries, which often require "label-out" or "bar code-out" case turning for retail display, particularly in "big box" retail situations. The Alvey bumpless case turner employs patent-pending technology to create a speed differential under the cases that can selectively and accurately generate negative 90, positive 90, 180, and 270 degree case-turns. With a maximum throughput of 72 cases per minute, the Alvey bumpless case turner is a faster, more cost-effective solution than traditional case-turning alternatives such as sequential bump turners, right-angle transfers, and lift-and-turn equipment. Among the Alvey bumpless case turner's features are a patent-pending auto-correct function with two laser sensors to ensure accurate case turning, and a design that is simpler, less expensive, and easier-to-maintain than competing solutions that employ servo motors. "We built the Alvey bumpless case turner to meet the special needs of a variety of FKI Logistex customers," says Ken Thouvenot, vice president of project management and marketing, FKI Logistex Manufacturing Systems. "Alvey palletizers have always offered the best solutions for the gentle handling of case products. The Alvey bumpless case turner is just another example of how FKI Logistex is the standard-bearing leader in product development for the palletizing market." For an onsite demonstration of the Alvey bumpless case turner's capabilities and its integration with other Alvey material handling equipment, visit FKI Logistex at booth S-2636 during PackExpo 2004 in Chicago, November 7-11.
