Applimotion Introduces the Slotless HO Series Brushless Servo Motor

HO Series motors combine an industry standard NEMA 23 mounting with a large through hole, a high resolution encoder, and Slotless Motor Construction making an unbeatable package for light assembly and inspection applications. The new slotless version eliminates unwanted magnetic disturbances for the ultimate in smooth running operation at low speeds.

HO Series motors are the ultimate cross between a brushless servo motor and a precision rotary stage, providing accuracy, resolution and repeatability of a rotary stage in a basic motor package.

HO series motors come with an internally mounted high resolution glass encoder grating. An encoder read head is mounted to the rear of the motor and can easily be replaced or upgraded in the field. Standard resolutions greater than 29,000,000 counts/revolution can be achieved with repeatability at 0.3 microradians. Applimotion aligns gratings after motor assembly to better than 24 microradians of absolute accuracy using a precision Autocollimator.

HO motors come with a 16mm though bore in the shaft so customers can run wires, fiber optic cables, laser beams, vacuum, and other medium through the motor. This feature combines direct drive motor technology in standard motor packaging for simple machine integration. Thin cross section precision ABEC-7 bearings are standard. Torque curves have less than 1% harmonic distortion for smooth operation with sinusoidal current control amplifiers. Standard windings cover 12-24 volts, (custom windings are available).
