Original Press Release:

Bodine Introduces New Low-Voltage Brushless DC Gearmotor with Built-In Speed Control (12 or 24VDC)

NORTHFIELD, IL – Bodine Electric Company is expanding its offering of INTEGRAmotor™ gearmotor and control systems by adding 24 new 34B/SR-WX models. Now available as standard products, this product series already has an extensive performance record in applications such as chemical injection pumps, medical equipment and automatic gate openers. Designed for portable or remote applications where connection to an AC line is not possible, they are ideal for solar or battery powered equipment. Other applications include industrial and medical equipment where low-voltage motors are required for safety reasons

INTEGRAmotor Features

The new 34B/SR-WX combines an easy-to-use and easy to set up, low voltage PWM speed control, a brushless DC motor and a high-torque gearhead in one compact package. The enclosed (IP-44) PWM control can be operated with the built-in speed pot, or remotely via analog input signals. Both 12 and 24 VDC rated models are now available with inputs for run, brake, speed and direction, as well as 12 pulse/revolution tach output and dynamic braking for quick stops. Current limit circuitry protects the motor from being overloaded.

The new INTEGRAmotor is ideal for variable-speed applications. Bodine’s type 34B motor provides high starting torque and linear speed-torque characteristics. Its brushless design insures that there will be no carbon dust from motor brushes, and no down-time for brush maintenance and replacement. Designed to be completely maintenance-free, the sealed WX gearbox features all-steel helical gears and synthetic lubricant.

Class I, Division 2 Compliant

These new 34B4/SR-WX INTEGRAmotors™ meet NEC Class I, Division 2 standards for use in environments where flammable gases or vapors may accidentally be spilled or leak into the operating area. The gearmotors are UL listed for operation in hazardous locations per CI/D2, groups A, B, C, or D.

Availability

The 34B4/SR-WX INTEGRAmotors are available through Bodine’s extensive distributor network, and are also sold directly to qualified OEMs. Minimum order quantities and lead-times apply. OEM samples for m-models are available from stock.
