RF Networks, Inc. Increases Frequency Range and Adds Data Rate Agility

New Flexibility Allows Rapid and Remote Reconfiguration

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- June 28, 2005 -- RF Networks, Inc., an innovative manufacturer of radio frequency communications products, today announced the availability of its updated coaxial cable and microwave modem -- The RF Networks' Model 5960 Broadband Modem improves and expands the capability of the popular RF Networks Model 5450. The Model 5960 features QPSK and BPSK modes, completely independent frequency agility range to 960 MHz, agile data rates from 56 Kilobits per second to 15 Megabits per second, and remote control capability for all modem parameters.

The Model 5960 is part of a family of RF modems that support Virtual Private Networks (VPN) for a variety of applications. The family has also been used for Out-Of-Band (OOB) testing for a number of consumer cable products. The new data rate agility capability eliminates the need for multiple modems or rate change related modem downtime. The remote control capability supports automated testing scenarios. A wide variety of interfaces are available including an optional remote Ethernet bridge.

The Model 5960 is capable of multiple channel operation and needs no additional equipment such as amplifier bypass units. Using the RF Networks product is ideal for operation in low signal to noise environments. Return signaling in the 5-8 MHz sub band is even possible in most systems.

"The Model 5960 allows for simple, quick data rate changes without requiring hardware board changes or complex re-tuning" said Dr. Paul S. Eastman, RF Networks' vice president of marketing and sales. "It adds significant new capability to compliment and augment the capability of consumer cable modems. Added functionality, including remote configuration control and a BER generator mode, simplifies installation and reconfiguration."

RF Networks, Inc., is a manufacturer of quality radio frequency data communications equipment to domestic and international markets. RF Networks, Inc. builds high-speed, QPSK modems providing point-to-point or poll mode applications over RF media for the commercial market and telemetry products for the government and aerospace industries.
