Compact and Powerful IP Broadband Streamer Supports Interactive Video

Enabling telecom operators to add interactive video applications to their existing data and voice capabilities to create triple play services, Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS) is delivering a remarkably compact and efficient streaming solution. The Grass Valley(TM) IPS 1200 is a broadband IP streamer with all the functionality required for rich content delivery in a 1RU chassis.

The unique Thomson-designed chips used in the IPS 1200 give it unprecedented power. A single unit can accept up to 16 ASI streams with full MPEG remultiplexing, allowing it to deliver hundreds of television services. The output is to gigabit Ethernet, supporting stream speeds of up to 700Mb/s for DSL and FTTH networks. Services already protected by conditional access can be passed through in scrambled form, and built-in DVB scrambling is compatible with leading access control systems.
