Brinell Testers suit production-volume testing applications.

Press Release Summary:

Series 7000 uses load cell to accurately monitor test force. Testers are not affected by temperature changes and hydraulic warmup period. With hydraulic stroke range of 4 in., units adjust to test different sizes of parts. Capacity of standard model is 10 in. with elevating screw lowered and 16 in. with it removed. Standard horizontal capacity is 8 in. Systems are controlled electronically and all electronics are enclosed for use in bad operating environments.

New 7000 Series Brinell Tester with Load Cell Control and Long Stroke for Higher Volume Testing Applications

Southampton, PA - Newage Testing Instruments, Inc., has developed a new line of large-capacity hydraulic Brinell testers to provide speed and accuracy in production-volume testing applications. The 7000 Series uses a load cell to accurately monitor the test force. Load cells provide highly consistent force measurement, so the 7000 Series is not affected by temperature changes, hydraulic warmup period, and other factors that can affect other load control designs.

The standard 7000 Series model has a 4" hydraulic stroke range so the 7000 Series quickly adjusts to test different sizes of test parts since the elevating screw does not need to be repositioned repeatedly. Using the foot pedal, operators can jog the test head down to position the indenter precisely. When testing same-size parts the elevating screw can be adjusted for the minimum stroke.

The capacity of the standard model is large for most applications where parts are fed by hand - 10" with the elevating screw lowered and 16" with it removed, and larger capacity models are available: 24", 36" and 48". The standard horizontal capacity is 8". Longer strokes are also available.

The entire test system is controlled electronically - the hydraulics through a built-in progammable controller and the rest of the system through Newage's proprietary electronic package. The electronics are completely enclosed for use in bad operating environments. Other features include automatic no-part retraction, a selectable time at load of 2, 5, or 12 seconds.
