Sumitomo's New X-Bar Boring Bars Feature a Dampening Mechanism to Eliminate Vibrations

Mount Prospect, IL - (October 5, 2005) Sumitomo Electric introduces the revolutionary Anti Vibration X-Bar, for deep-hole boring. The X-Bar features a special dampening mechanism that eliminates chatter, resulting in extremely fine finishes and extra long tool life.

Ideal for extended overhangs, the X-Bar provides smooth finishes at up to 6X the length to diameter. Both cost-competitive with a solid carbide bar and performance-superior to a steel bar, the X-Bar is the best option for deep hole boring.

The X-Bar is ideal for step boring, bottom facing and copying. All X-Bars are coolant thru and available with CCMT, TCMT and TPMT style inserts in a wide variety of chipbreakers - including the new ELU and ESU. Shank sizes range from 0.500 - 1.000" diameter.
