CSC Announces New Identity Management and Credentialing Solution

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 21 / -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) today announced that its Border and Immigration Solutions Center of Excellence has introduced a complete, end-to-end biometrics identity management and credentialing solution, called IDentity. The solution is compliant with Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 201 (FIPS 201) and provides a comprehensive range of functions that support the identity management lifecycle, including biometric and biographic enrollment, identity and security adjudications, and card production, issuance and management.

CSC's IDentity solution meets the requirements for Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, which mandates that federal agencies implement robust identification and identity management capabilities. In contrast to applications that are created after a contract award, IDentity is an existing, fully functional enterprise framework that can handle millions of records, including those that are currently managed by legacy identity management systems.

"IDentity is a system of interactive applications based on commercial off- the-shelf products that provide federal agencies with the flexibility they need to implement it in concert with their current technology," said Timothy Ruggles, director of CSC's Border and Immigration Solutions Center of Excellence. "This offering will help deliver results to meet the identity management and credentialing needs of our government clients."

Entirely standards-based, IDentity follows the design principles of service-oriented business management architecture. It enables customers to add and remove Web services and new or improved risk and identity assessment analytics at will. This approach makes the system flexible, as well as adaptable in the future.

IDentity includes several features that provide strong identity authentication needed to support federal, state and local homeland security initiatives. Features include: multiple levels of biographic and biometric search capabilities for establishing name uniqueness and integrity; dual multi-modal search fusion engines that enable powerful combinations of biometric algorithms in searches for duplicate or prohibited identities using different matching algorithms; and multi-source, multi-analytic biographic and document data screening capabilities that can incorporate government and public data sources to guard against fraudulent or manufactured identities.
